Change Element Type

You might find that an object that you have represented as one type of element would be better represented as another type. The 'Select Element Type' dialog allows you to change the type very quickly and simply.

Access

Ribbon

Design > Element > Edit > Change Type

Show > Portals > Window > Properties > Properties : In the Type field of the Properties window, click on the button

Start > Explore > Properties > Properties : In the Type field of the Properties window, click on the button

Change Type

On the 'Select Element Type' dialog, click on the 'Element Type' drop-down arrow and select the new element type from the list.

Click on the OK button.

The target element is transformed into the required type.

Notes

This operation is effective on basic UML elements, but has limited use for profile-stereotyped elements such as those used in BPMN or ArchiMate modeling
